Design
Designing a website consists of six phases: Information Gathering, Site Structure, the Design, Site Development, Testing / Delivery and Maintenance.
These six phases are the essential building blocks used to create, publish a website and keep it up to date.
Phase1: Information Gathering
The Information Gathering phase is the most important phase, as it is the basis of how the site will look and feel to your customers or clients. It is also where we gather the content needed for your website. Many things need to be taken into consideration: who your customers/clients are, your competitors and the nature of your business. We will ask questions to gather information from you such as:
- Who is your target audience?
- Is there a specific demographic to your target audience?
- What are you trying to accomplish by building this website?
- Do you want to provide information, promote a service or sell a product?
Phase2: Site Structure
The Site Structure phase is where we take the Information we gathered from you and begin to work on how the website should be laid out. We will develop a site map which will serve as a guide for the content and navigation.
Phase 3: The Design
In the Design phase, we start the creative process. First we will work with you to create and design your logo if you do not already have one. Once we have the logo, we work with the logo’s color scheme to create the website design. Usually multiple designs are created before the one that fits your needs is decided on.
Phase 4: Site Development
The Site Development phase is where we will begin converting the design you have chosen into your website. It can be created in many different formats from: HTML, WordPress, E-Commerce or a CMS platform. Elements such as rollovers, web based forms are implemented and made functional during this stage.
Phase 5: Testing / Delivery
This is where we will iron out the final details and test your website for errors, broken links, the functionality of web forms and/or scripts and compatibility with newer browsers.
Once we receive the final approval, it is time to deliver your website. This is where we upload the files to the server and run a final test to ensure everything is in working order. After this, you are officially launched and your website is viewable to the public.
Phase 6: Maintenance
The Maintenance phase consists of updates to your website and changes that you request. We offer packages that include monthly updates with hosting or we can provide updates at an hourly fee if you do not wish to have your website hosted with us.
